WHAT IS THE LOCATION OF SITE?

CAN YOU GIVE ME DIRECTIONS TO SITE?
From the South (London)
Leave the M25 at the A12 turn off towards Chelmsford
Continue past Chelmsford and leave the A12 at the Witham slip road the B1389.
In half a mile at The Jack and Jenny PH turn right into Maltings Lane, straight over at roundabout and continue to the end and turn right.
Pass under A12 then take second left, (*) you should then see Benton Hall Golf Course on your right. (There are Brown signs directing to Benton Hall G.C. from the A12.)  Continue on this road for 2 miles (approx.) over narrow bridge up the hill into Wickham Bishops, keep on the same road going through the Village, then turn left between The Mitre PH. and the Garage into Great Totham Road. Entrance to Prances in 300 yards on right.

From the North (Colchester)
Leave the A12 at the slip road (B 1389) for Witham follow road towards Witham then at the traffic lights turn left.  Continue to 3rd roundabout (mini) turn left into Maldon road  In half a mile pass under A12 then take second left.

HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?
All booking forms to be sent to the Site Managers.
Camp fees and deposits see booking forms.
Deposit secures booking.
WHAT ABOUT PRS, PPL AND MPLG?
The site does not hold PRS, PPL or MPLG licences. Site users are responsible to make their own arrangements to ensure they meet current laws relating to playing music and films
WHO ARE THE STAFF?
The site is staffed by the Managers and the Prances Service Team (all unpaid volunteers).
I HAVE A CONCERN OVER SITE SECURITY?
Report all unwanted trespassers or visitors to the SITE MANAGERS.
WHAT ARE THE NOISE RESTRICTIONS?
All campers and visitors are requested to be quiet between 22:30 and 07:30 HRS.
There are a number of houses adjacent to the campsite, please respect their privacy.
WHAT SHOULD I DO ON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE?
Please report to the Managers or Service Team on arrival.
Please report to the Managers or Service Team for a site inspection prior to your departure.
CAN I BRING A VEHICLES ON SITE?
No vehicles are allowed on the camping area.
Parking is limited so please park with others in mind.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
No dogs allowed on the camping area.
Check policy with the Managers.
ARE THERE ANY BOUNDARIES?
Fences and hedges mark all boundaries.
These should not be interfered with.
WHERE CAN I FIND WATER ?
Water isfrom standpipes on site. It is drinking water.
Please instruct users not to waste water.
CAN WE PLAY WIDE GAMES?
Please organize and play bearing in mind that others may be on site, and see Noise Rules.
IS THERE FIRE WOOD?
No wood may be cut from any trees or bushes an the campsite.
Under no circumstances may any trees be felled without the express permission of the campsite warden.
Please use wood for fires from the wood pile or by picking dead wood from the ground.
Wood is always in short supply, please do not waste it.
Pallet wood may be available but will need breaking up prior to burning.
PLEASE ADOPT FIRE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AT ALL TIMES.
CAN WE BRING ALCOHOLfor OVER 18's?
Check with SITE MANAGERS regards to site policy.
CAN WE DIG PITS?
Under no circumstances will pits be dug on the campsite.
WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH OUR RUBBISH?
It is customary for campers to dispose of all rubbish they produce by burning it on a fire, except for that which cannot be burnt (i.e. glass and tins).   These should be placed in the recycle bins in the car park.
Remember this is a litter free campsite for the pleasure of all.
ARE THERE TOILETS?
There is a new site Toilet block for campers and facilities in the Peter Church Lodge
WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT FIRST AID?
Campers and visitors should bring their own first aid kits.
CAN WE HAVE FIRES?
Wood fires are only permitted on the prepared bases or on an alter (Some available on site).
Under no circumstances may fire pits be dug.
NO FIRES ALLOWED ON GRASSED AREAS.
CAN WE USE KNIVES AND AXES
No knives shall be worn on the campsite, other than on an official activity requiring the use of them (i.e. a pioneering course or gadget making project).
Control of knives and axes should be maintained in a camp of any kind under the care of a Q.M., and issued only as required.
Only trained users should have the responsibility of using knives and axes.
